Schneider Cup Portsmouth Air Race 1929

A heavy cast brass, or perhaps bronze, Schneider Cup commemorative bon-bon dish.

The dish, which measures around 3.5 inches, has not been over cleaned and retains all of its original detail. as well as dark age patina.

The 1929 Schneider Air Race was won by Flying Officer Henry Waghorn of the Royal Air Force High-Speed Flight over The Solent, flying a Supermarine S.6 (serial N247). A crowd, estimated upto one million people, came to watch.
