British Victorian Bicycle Clock c.1895

A rare Victorian brass desk clock from the late 19th Century depicting the "Safety Bicycle" and its gentleman rider. With the innovation of the safety bicycle, the novelty of this new means of transportation became hugely popular.

This clock, made by the "British United Clock Co." has the original movement, which is in working order, having been serviced in recent years. The 8-day movement is wound by the winged nut. A registration number can also be found on the rear of the clock, which the Patent Office recognise as having been granted to the B.U.C. Co. in 1893. Overall the ornate porcelain dial and brass figure are all in perfect condition, making this a highly desirable item, both as a decoration and a functioning clock.

The clock base length = 8 inches
Height = 6.5 inches
Diameter of dial bezel = 2.5 inches
