Deane & Son 54 Bore Revolver

A 54 bore percussion revolver of Adams type, signed Deane & Son.

These early muzzle loading revolvers were originally manufactured without a rammer and, while the original owner opted to have an aftermarket rammer retrofitted, many, as with this one, were later removed by officers requiring to carry their revolvers holstered, preferring to rely pre load spare cylinders instead.

A good example exhibiting clear but rubbed marking, with a dark patina but requiring a trigger return spring to complete - A straightforward restoration project.
