WW1 French Mantle 8-Day Clock

A WW1 era made 8-day mantle clock. The clock is in good working order.

Cosmetically the clock shows some signs of small knocks, both to the edge of the enamel dial and to the "church window" style case but the decorative marquetry is unaffected.

Interestingly, the French clockmaker opted to use a jewelled balance platform in the construction of the movement, this allows it to keep time even in the absence of any even surface, or other disturbance that would cause a pendulum clock to stop.

A nice honest example.
