WW1 British Army Piccolo & WW2 Pouch
A genuine British Army bandsman's piccolo, complete with a leather military issue pouch, dated 1940.
As this piccolo is in the key of "D-flat" it can be identified as an instrument from WW1, only in the 1920s the military music schools the bands were reformed with instruments in the key of "C", as they remain to this day. The pouch is however, a WW2 dated example.
This piccolo appears to be in playing order, however, some tweaking might be needed to tune it. Adjusting the cork and seals between the leather pads might be required. Nevertheless, all pads are present and the keys operate, opening and closing against spring tension. While showing signs of historic service wear and repair, this two piece piccolo still toots.
