British Army Lock Knife c.2003
A genuine and scarce British Army issue lock knife with broad arrow and NATO numbers, made by the "Index Measuring Tape Co. Ltd.", in 2003. These are like the military General Service pocket knives but this example features a lock on the blade and appears to be in unissued condition. The can opener is not lockable and operates in a more typical fashion.
Generally, this knife appears to be unissued but with storage marks to the scales and the "UTD" marked blade is unsharpened. In operation, the lock holds the blade open firmly, while the can opener functions against a slip joint, but this is defective. As such, the can opener can be folded closed with less effort.
Overall, a tidy-looking example that can only be carried under UK law, only when a legitimate purpose and reasonable excuse exist. Apparently, the yellow lanyard was with the knife when it was issued.
