WW2 Cyma 335 Tank Watch, c.1940

Motivated by images from the Western Front, Louis Cartier designed the first rectangular watch in 1917, taking inspiration from the new Tank that appeared on the battlefield. Fashionable, his iconic timepiece was widely copied by other watchmakers, such as this example made by Cyma.

Made c.1940, this high end Cyma 335 Tank watch remains in original condition - Used but not abused. It is running very well, and is capable of giving reliable daily service but it will be freshly serviced and timed prior to sale. The images of the movement show a film of grime over the plates, which will be cleaned. Any patina and signs of previous wear will remain, keeping the watch's historic integrity.

A superb WW2 watch that comes on a quality vintage strap, lightly worn but still remaining supple.
