WW2 German Army DH Longines Wristwatch, c.1942

Consignment Sale: A rare and very clean Dienstuhr Heer issue wristwatch by Longines, c.1942.

This is the first pattern Longines wristwatch that was issued to the German Army during WW2, which is instantly identifiable through the sub-seconds dial, as it is marked at every ten-second division - The later issue version is only marked at every fifteen-second point.

The prestigious Longines 12.68 movement features shock and antimagnetic properties as well as boasting a superior grade finish grade of finish with the Geneve stripes and rhodium plating. Notwithstanding the attention to detail on the inside, the case itself is of the classic Longines stepped case design and is made from solid steel. All in all, a top-quality watch supplied to the Wehrmacht, in used but original and well-maintained condition, ideal for the collection or daily wear, having been recently cleaned by the present owner and presented on a period German(?) military strap.

Rare to find priced with a sub £2k price ticket.
